Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At h78 group we believe that CSR should be approached in a more holistic way, taking a wholesome look at economic aspects, the environment and the community we are based in. We also measure our success not just by financial returns but also how much we have helped our community and by how little impact we have had on the environment.



Helping the local economy
h78 will try to source products from local markets and growers, such as food and raw materials as much as possible. We will also get local suppliers to get us products that are not available to us in Maldives, after thoroughly checking their shipping methods for environment friendly practices. We will also commission local artists and photographers to do pictures and artwork needed for any property owned by the group. All promotional materials will be commissioned as much as possible to local firms and all adventure tourism elements will be carried out by locals as well.



Working with the community
Promoting cultural tourism among-st the guests of the hotel is one of the main ways this is to be achieved. The guests will be encouraged to visit local islands (which will be offered as packages), and also to spend time with local families to get an understanding of Maldivian culture. We will also sell souvenirs and artwork made by locals at h78. The group also aims to help the youth by offering them jobs and learning opportunities. We are also committed to help the needy and will work with different charitable organizations to help those in need.

As we are located in Maldives, the group is very much aware of the delicate nature of our surroundings and are committed to have a little impact and to the preserve the environment as much as possible. To this end we will put in guidelines that employees need to follow and we will also have recommendations for the guests on how they can help us in having sustainable practices. We also aim to educate our guests on the fragile nature of the Maldivian environment and how they can enjoy it without disturbing or disrupting it.
